Zingiberales Gardens is a 20 acres garden in the foothills of the El Yunque Federal Caribbean Rain Forest Reserve in Río Grande P.R.  Zingiberales Gardens dedicates its efforts to conserve the species of the 8 familes of the Zingiberales Order.

A particularly strong effort is dedicated to conserve the species of the Heliconia family, and within this family, first priority is given to the conservation of the pendant heliconia species.

We will publish shortly accession lists, garden maps and growing, blooming and seeding statistics.  Since space probably will not be available in the HSI Information Bulletins we will publish these information in the HSI Conference 2004 Web Site.

During the year 2002, upto date, 76 families joined Zingiberales Gardens to raise our members to 554 families.
