I either
sing, or sigh.
I softly rock my doll;
I sing a lullaby to sleep her.
I sigh if she wakes up.
My crafty little doll is still awake!
With her eyes half-closed,
She is taking ages to fall asleep.
No matter how much I sing,
My doll won't even doze!
Now, close your eyes, I said.
Hurry up and go to sleep!
As soon as you fall asleep,
I'll wake you up so we can play.
