Ray Ramírez Electric Basses

The new Ray Ramírez electric basses are available in 34" for 4 string and 35" scale for 5, 6 and 7 strings models, 24 fret  thru neck and bolt on options. A zero fret neck can be tailored as an option. These basses are available in 4, 5, 6 or 7 string configurations. The necks and bodies are available in several combinations.  The woods used in the body and neck can include exotic woods such as: Bubinga, Zebrawood, Purple Heart, Majó, Capa Prieto, Imbuia, Acacia, etc... and domestic woods like Hardrock maple, quilted maple, curly maple, Swamp ash, etc...Other woods are available upon request. The client decides which wood combinations he or she wants in the instrument.  The great majority of basses that we sell are oil finished. Some clients ask for high gloss finishes and a Clear High Gloss urethane is the perfect choice.

The bodies and necks are hand carved to allow a comfortable and easy access to the 24th fret or fretboard end in case of fretless fingerboards. With the thru neck basses the wood laminations are so well blended that they feel like a one piece neck. The blending of different body woods adds a distinctive sound to each instrument, helping in the unique growl and presence with tremendous cut and punch. Dark color woods add a dark tone to the instrument. Light color woods add a bright tone to the sound. With a careful selection of woods your dream bass can be build depending on the sound qualities that you are looking for. Although the wood plays an important role in the final sound qualities, the electronics used in the instrument also play an important role. Only the best electronics devices are used in each Ramírez Electric Bass and they include: Bartolini, Seymour Duncan, etc... The final decision is made by the client. The electronics can be passive, active or both.
