||||||||
| Problem, need, or opportunity | ||||||||
|
A course web page
offers an excellent opportunity to review laboratory techniques and concepts.
Hyper and multimedia are appropriate delivery systems in that they allow
students improve their skills and knowledge out of laboratory course hours. |
||||||||
| Audience | ||||||||
| The
main audience would be freshmen students enrolled in DC Theory Circuits
Laboratory Course (TEEL 3162) of the Electronic Technology programs. The
audience can also include non-freshmen students registered in the program.
More than 70% of freshmen students have basic skills on computer literacy.

| User's Needs | ||||||||
|
Interviews and surveys to students provided information about many things that the course web site should include. The needs are:
The most important
needs of the users were the understanding of the proto board, and the
DC measurement of current and continuity in a circuit. |
||||||||
| Environment | ||||||||
| The
user will be most likely be accessing the site from their home computer.
The site will be available and accessible through the Electronics Department
web page. The course home page will have a navigational bar links to the
information. The site will not likely have much video or animation. Thus,
the user will not need many plug-ins. Since there will be photograph images
showing procedures, a high level modem or cable connection will help improve
downloading time. A 4.0 browser will also help improve downloading time
for the user. A printer would be helpful if the user wanted to make a hard
copy of any information on the site. |
||||||||
| Resources and Limitations | ||||||||
| The
resources for the course web site are currently available and self-generated.
They are ready to be put into hypertext and hyper-media format. The web
page can be updated on the university campus on a semester basis. |
