He became leader of the Oniwabanshu group with only 15 years of age. He was an onmitsu or old government guard. He i first seen when Kenshin, Sanosuke and they're friends go to save Megumi from Kanryu. When the whole Oniwabanshu was defeated he had to fight Kenshin After his friends died he blamed Kenshin for their deaths and wanted revenge. Always bent on proving that the Oniwabanshu were the strongest, he became obsessed and his personality took a turn to the dark side making his skills improve greatly as he tapped the darkness in his heart but still he was defeated by Kenshin. When he returned home he passed most of his time meditating. Of course in the end Kenshin and Aoshi became friends.
Kenshin Himura

Techniques:Bathow Jutsu, Double Bathow Jutsu, Ryu Tsui Sen, Do Ryu Sen, Ryu Sho Sen, Ryu Kan Sen, Ryu Kan Sen Tsumuji, Kuzu Ryu Sen, Ana Kakeru Ryu No Hirameki.
His real name is Shinta Himura but his master, Seijuro Hiko, changed it after he saved him from his kidnappers because it was a peaceful name. During the Tokugawa Era he killed many people to open a new way for the Meiji Era and earned the nickname Hitokiri Battousai. After he stopped killing he turned into a rurouni(wanderer) and got an edgeless sword(sakabatou) to protect the inoccents. After encountering Kaoru one morning he saved her from Gohei Hiruma and decided to stay in the dojo until he was called to help defeat Shishio but after the task was completed he returned once again to his friends.

Techniques: None(at least she didn't perform any on the series)
She was the first person that identified Kenshin as the Hitokiri Battousai(it was a lucky guess but still) she then was convinced by Kenshin that he wasn't the Hitokiri Battousai. Then after being saved by Kenshin from Gohei Hiruma she started to fall in love with Kenshin. When Kenshin had to leave for Kyoto to fight Shishio she fell in a great deppression until Yahiko and Megumi convinced her to go after Kenshin to help him stay away from the Hitokiri Battousai inside of him.
