Harold Torres Racing 1967 Camaro

Here are some pictures of our race car. A 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, owned, built and driven by Harold Torres.

General description:

    Our car features a Chassis Engineering 4 link back-half with Koni double adjustable shocks and NHRA legal 12 point roll cage. The rear end is a Ford 9" heavy-duty with a M/W nodular center section, Moser Engineering 31 spline alloy axles and a Detroit Locker differential. All welding was done using TIG equipment. The body is all steel except the front end and the doors, which are fiberglass parts made by Harwood and Unlimited. Braking is done by Wilwood disc on all four corners. The transmission is a TH400 with a John Winters transbrake, converter, and GER & TCI internals. Tires are 31.5" x 14.5" Good Year and 26"x5" Moroso "DS1". Weld Pro-star wheels (15"x14" & 15"x3.5") complete the package.

Engine:

    The engine is a Chevy .030 over 454 with relocated alternator and electric driven water pump. It sports a 4" stroke BRC 4340 non-twist crankshaft, Manley 4340 H-beam rods (stock length), TRW L2307AF Forged pistons and Speed-Pro hand-fit Moly rings for a total of 14.5:1 measured compression ratio. The intake system is a Holley 1050 Annular booster (soft open secondary) Dominator, Dart single plane manifold and Dart Aluminum rect. Port, open chambered heads. Valve events are controlled by a Comp Cams roller cam, roller rockers, pushrods and followers. Exhaust is Hooker. Lubrication is by Melling, Milodon & Moroso (Wet sump). To date only VP-C14 114 oct gas is used. No N2O!
