Uniforms

Starfleet has authorized a number of uniforms for wear by its personnel. On Area 001, the perscribed uniforms are the utility variations, as shown below. Illustrated are the current uniforms and descriptions, indicating those directed to wear each version.

Starfleet Uniforms
The Dress White uniforms are newly authorized by Starfleet for formal and ambassadorial occasions.
Red uniforms are worn by Command Track Officers.
Blue uniforms are worn by Science Departments' Personnel.
Gold uniforms are worn by Security, Engineering, and all other personnel.
Black uniforms are worn by Starfleet Covert Operations Personnel.
Green uniforms are worn by Starfleet Marines
The far right uniform is Phaser Armored Uniform Phaser Armor is worn by Star Fleet Marines when they go into combat zones or potentially dangerous areas. The left side of the chest provides extra protection to the heart. The commbadge is a work in low-visibility, consisting of a dark, subdued silver arrowhead on a black background. Rank insignia is omitted. Instead, stripes are worn on the right arm only to indicate grade and rank.
The commbadge that is worn on Area 001 is a new design proposed by Starfleet. Since its inception in 2370, this version incorporates a new outward design, as well as internal technical enhancements. This follows with the unintended tradition that Starfleet has established of changing insignias every few years. The design is only being tested in Area 001. This field testing follows initial testing by Starfleet Research and Development in San Francisco, USNA, Terra.
