Fleet Admiral Juan C. Rodriguez

Admiral Juan's grandparents were killed by Romulans in what will be later termed "The Tomed Incident" in 2311. His father served aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid during the Khitomer Massacre in 2346. Applied and was accepted into Star Fleet Academy in 2353. G Graduated from Star Fleet Academy with a major in aerodynamics in 2357. Joined Star Fleet Marines shortly there after. He joined the Star Fleet Marine Force Recon in 2359. One assignment was a reconnaissance mission in Turkana IV from the starship Potemkin in 2361. He was accepted for a transfer from the Marines to security chief of the U.S.S. Yorktown in 2363. He was promoted to Commander in 2365 after defending the Yorktown from an attack by Tholian raiders. He accepted command of the U.S.S. San Juan, a New Orleans class starship, in 2366. He then lost the San Juan during the Battle of Wolf 359. But he survived by ramming the escape pod into the severed hull of the U.S.S. Melbourne, damaging the sub-space radio beacon of the pod in the process. After the loss of the San Juan and the rescue, he was transferred to the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards, where he worked in the design teams for both the Defiant and Sovereign class upgrades. During his stay in the Utopia Planitia, becomes romantically involved with Lt. Commander Jennifer Torres, who is Chief Medical Officer of the Star Fleet Sector in the station. He then served a six month shift as Star Fleet garrison commander at Camp Olympus Mars in 2369. Transferred to Earth, serving as Commander of Star Fleet Marine Corps Recruiting Depot at Paris Island, North Carolina in 2370. Lost fiancé in the Gamma Quadrant, where she served as the Chief Medical Officer of the U.S.S. Odyssey when it was destroyed with the loss of all hands in 2370. Given command of the Galaxy Class starship U.S.S. Darksword in 2372, serving as part of the 3rd fleet stationed near Earth. When hostilities between the Dominion and the Federation increased, the U.S.S. Darksword was sent to Star base 1 for a new experimental paint scheme which was known by its code name as "Chaos Knight" which he oversaw, which proved unfortunately to be ineffective. Led the 3rd Fleet against the Dominion\Cardassian Fleet. Held the line long enough for the Defiant to blast through the enemy fleet. He was then promoted to Admiral after this battle which was known as the "Battle of the Front Line", transferred with ship and crew to the newly improved Star Fleet Technological and Tactical Research Center. Which was a top secret installation made for the study of Dominion, Borg and other races. Better known as Area 001 or "the Plasma Conduit". After several months improving the defensive systems in the Einstein-class Timeslip Cruiser and the Hermes-Class Cruiser Admiral Juan C. Rodriguez got promoted to Fleet Admiral for his heroic actions at the Battle of Qatar VI where the U.S.S. Darksword was able to fend a small fleet of Jem'Hadar fighters and warships with the help of the U.S.S. Hermes and the U.S.S. Thunderchild. All three ships were damaged but not beyond repair. Bio Update Stardate 59807.20: After assignment to Area 001, Adm. Rodriguez became the Security Officer for the whole section of space. It was secluded from the rest of the Solar system, making the job that much easier. Taking cues from the Area 51 of the 20th century and the floating CryoPrissons of Alpha Centaury from the 21st-22nd Centuries, Adm. Rodriguez set out to make the perimeter of Area 001 virtually impregnable from the outside, and inescapable from the inside, in case the worst comes to happen. Also, he advocated the creation of a specialized team of soldiers,hgily motivated, independent form the Chain of Command and ready for any sort of mission at a moment's notice. This team was to be divided into two forms: a squadron of the best-trained shuttle pilots in the Federation, either civilians or StarFleet, to be called LightSpheres, and a company-sized group of the hardest, best trained Spec Force soldiers in StarFleet, to be called NightSpheres. This elite taskforce would have the reporting name of the DarkSpheres Project, and would be under the direct command of the Admiral, with him reporting strait to Starfleet Sector Security. The DarkSpheres Project was given the go-ahead by Flt. Adm. Misra, and quickly became THE most talked about subject in the mess halls and the barracks in the Marine section of the stations. Due to the difficulties of molding these two groups into a cohesive, battle-ready unit worthy of the recognition that the 12th Terran Hussars and the 1st Iron Legion received during the Romulan Wars was extremly difficult. So difficult , in fact, that the Project could not report in time to prevent the coup from happening in Area 001. Adm. Rodriguez also kept in touch with Flt. Adm. Misra, telling him that the only way to get Area 001 back was to storm it. This could have occured with ease, since it was Rodriguez that designed the Perimeter Deffences and wrote the book on how to deffend the stations in case of an assault by Threat Forces. The DarkSpheres Project was activated("loaded for bear"), but was to be used as a last, desperate option. Even though just how the stations were taken back is classified SecClearance Alpha Omega 001-Gold, the DarkSpheres Project had an important part in it. It is ussually remarked by the Marine garrison that the Project is nothing more but Flt. Adm. Misra's SS (refering to the German Waffen SS divisions of World War II), but these remarks are always light-hearted jokes,even though no one has tried to do this in front of Adm. Rodriguez, lest they be ready to face him in hand-to-hand combat over at the Zero-G Training Facility.
