| Amit Misra was born on Earth in 2330. While growing up he was a great achiever in Biology and physics, winning many awards in science projects related to those topics. Misra failed to enter Star Fleet Academy in 2348 but was admitted in 2349. In the Academy, Amit started studying engineering, changed courses to temporal mechanics and then to command. Having excelled in all those fields and being able to complete all of them during summer, he graduated with honors and was given the rank of Ensign. After 4 years serving as helm officer aboard the U.S.S. Malinche, he was transferred on board the U.S.S. Ayers where he would serve as 2nd officer and then promoted to Captain after Wolf 359. In Wolf 359 the captain and the first officer were assimilated by the Borg when their escape pod was captured by them. After serving aboard the U.S.S. Ayers for two years as her captain, Starfleet Command transferred him to Area 001 as commanding officer for the experimental starships being tested there. He was warned that by joining Area 001, he would not be able to tell anyone about it. Also, Starfleet Intelligence implanted a microchip which was impossible to remove by surgery on Amit's neck to keep track of him. After overseeing further development in the Sovereign-class project and Norway-class project, he was promoted to the rank of Admiral and was made head of the facility. By that time, The Federation was at war with the Dominion. Since they needed all the ships and personnel they could, Adm. Amit took the newest Galaxy-class Explorer: The U.S.S. Commonwealth, the flagship of the 4th fleet. After the successful but painful retake of DS9, he returned to Area 001 to finish the U.S.S. Hermes which he made his personal ship which he commanded in the first two years of his term. Ever since the death of Fleet Admiral Hayes, Star Fleet promoted Admiral Amit Misra to Fleet Admiral and had a small fleet of 20 starships transferred to Area 001 from the 10th Fleet in order to protect it from any attack. Flt. Adm. Misra has been able to maintain a very balanced control over the facility in many crucial times. During the former Flt Adm Kensler's outburst, Misra was shown to have the potential needed to head such an important and secret facility when with the help of his comrades he was able to fend of a skirmish of his own ships and retake Area 001. Ever since the Area 001 incident, he also set up precautionary stations and spacedocks two of which area Command Post Alpha and Spacedock Nova. With the success of these two new stations he hopes to expand the Area 001 facility to touch other aspects which it lacks therefore improving quality of work done in Area 001. Admiral Misra has headed many new construction teams and is currently working on the R&D team on the Rising Sun-class carriers. |
